Cotton has made a comeback in Suez Texas after a long hiatus. A good crop was made in 2010 despite no irrigation and almost no rain.

Suez wildflowers

The spicy, aromatic Lacy Germander (Teucrium laciniatumcan) can be found in the Suez, Texas area blooming profusely in May.


Texas Forsythia (Foresteria pubescens) is a familiar native shrub in the Suez, Texas area. It is highly drought tolerant and provides cover and food for animals and birds.
Texas Prickly Ash/Toothache Tree/Hercules Club is a common small tree in the Suez area. The bark was used in early times to numb a toothache and for other maladies.

Suez Homes

The old Bert and Tiny Frazier house in Suez. They moved to De Leon some time in the 1980s. Bert and Tiny are both now deceased. The house is on private property and is in the process of collapsing.

Suez School

Site of the old Suez school. Nothing left but cactus and mesquite. The Suez school was established in unknown year but was reportedly merged into Beattie school in May 1928 and the Beattie school merged with Comanche in 1948.

Suez Church

This is the old Suez church, still standing (private property). Denomination is unknown, but probably Baptist.











 This old rock house on the Suez church property was obviously the church parsonage.
